Dr Timothy Rohde, Managing Director
Timothy is an environmental scientist and has been practicing for 21 years in the fields of soil science, geochemistry and mine closure.
Timothy is an experienced closure and rehabilitation specialist. He regularly works with legislation, best practice guidelines and completes technical investigations to develop tailored closure and rehabilitation options.
He specialises in storage facility design, final landform design, cover design, geochemistry, decommissioning and closure cost estimation.
Timothy is an experienced soil scientist having completed numerous soil surveys. He regularly assesses land capability and agricultural suitability.


Justin Vohland, Director
Justin is an environmental scientist and Health, Safety, Environment and Training (HSET) professional who has been practicing for over 12 years in the fields of project management, mine rehabilitation, mine closure and HSET and risk management.
Justin is an experienced closure and rehabilitation specialist. He regularly works with legislation, best practice guidelines and completes technical investigations to develop tailored closure and rehabilitation options.
He specialises in management of environmental monitoring and compliance, execution of rehabilitation activities, project management and closure cost estimation.


Anna Rohde, Administration & Financial Officer
Anna is responsible for the management and co-ordination of administrative and operational support to our consulting team. With 5 years’ experience, Anna has comprehensive knowledge of project administration, quality assurance and how to deliver services in the most efficient and productive way.


Harrison Vogler, Environmental Engineer
Harrison is an environmental engineer and has been practicing for 2 years.
He is interested in bioretention systems having previously investigated factors that influence their performance for urban sensitive water design.
Harrison is currently expanding his knowledge in soil science, geochemistry and mine closure having recently been involved in cover performance instrumentation, in-situ measurements, and processing and analysing field data to assess performance.
He has taken a specific interest in landform and cover design and their integration with water quality as they often require complex analysis and when done right result in positive environmental outcomes.

Anna Riddell, Environmental Scientist
Anna has spent years actively engaging with the environmental industry to assist clients with their environmental monitoring requirements. As an environmental scientist Anna has successfully supported a large number of environmental projects in regional Queensland across Mining, Water, Health and Infrastructure industries. She is looking forward to continuing to provide services to industry professionals and expand her knowledge of environmental management.

Lachlan McDonald, Environmental Scientist

Lachlan is an environmental scientist who is experienced in the fields of soil science,
geographical information systems (GIS), erosion and sediment control and mine
closure. He is dedicated to supporting best practice environmental management,
and regularly works with legislation, GIS and mine rehabilitation and closure planning.

Aaron Terry, Graduate Environmental Scientist
Aaron is a recent Environmental Scientist Graduate striving to expand his knowledge in the fields of soil science, geochemistry, mine closure and rehabilitation. He is committed to delivering sustainable solutions whilst holding SGME’s values of honesty, trust, innovation and safety in a high regard.
Aaron is looking forward to obtaining industry experience with SGME.

Ben Harper, Graduate Environmental Scientist
Ben is a graduate environmental scientist with experience in land rehabilitation, geotechnical testing, and soil and water science. He has a strong interest in sustainability and is excited to continue developing his professional skills and gain industry experience with SGM Environmental.


Laura Purdy, Graduate Environmental Scientist
Laura recently graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Environmental Science majoring in both Environmental Management and Ecology & Conservation. She completed an internship focusing on fire recovery management and is enthusiastic about increasing her knowledge base across many scientific fields including soil science, mine rehabilitation and project management.
Laura is excited to learn from the SGME team and to build her career within the environmental industry.

Luby Ferdous, Undergraduate Environmental Engineer
Luby has completed an associate degree in environmental engineering from University of Southern Queensland and is currently pursuing a bachelor degree in the same field. She has previously worked in consulting, gaining experience on landfill projects, ongoing environmental monitoring and compliance reporting.
She has interned with Queensland Department of Environment and Science where she assisted in surface water monitoring and compliance related investigations.
Luby is currently working on mine closure projects and rehabilitation plans. She has a keen interest in developing her knowledge in soil science and geochemistry while contributing her experience and learnings.
